The Lady is Not Investing!?!
Okay, so that is sadly true. I am no longer pursuing real estate investing.
Will you ever invest in the future? Most definitely YES!
Well, what will you do now lady? I’m focusing on getting out of debt, the long way.
I know, seems crazy, but that’s what’s happening. There are those who are able to go all out and risk all for the sweet reward of ‘freedom.’ Its been decided that for myself, this goal can be obtained through other means and shall be pursued in a different way.
So, what about the title of this site, what WILL you do now? Nothing is certain, except death and paying taxes (in one form or another). I will continue to pray and seek the Lord for guidance and move on from there. But I really like this name and this site so I may just turn it into a depository for various pieces of real estate related information that I’ve gathered over the last year and a half since I began my journey into real estate investing. We’ll see!
In closing I’d like to quote one of my favorite Bible verses to you, my readers:
The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you; The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually). ~ Numbers 6:24-26
ladyrealestateinvestor, I hate to hear that you decide stop being an investor. What type real estate investing were you doing wholesaling, sub2, buy & hold, lease options, or foreclosure? Are you member of one the REI clubs in Hampton Roads like TRIG ( http://www.trigofva.com) So, you can get an enthusiastic support from like minded people. I know real estate can frustrating and hard at times, but who said it was easy. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. I hate to see you give give on real estate investing I think it could be good part time or full business just don’t lose focus from all these gurus claiming this is what you need NOW or this will give you more leads! Stay Focus and if you are a wholesaler like me go for the low hanging fruit code compliance, Tax delinquent, and probate. Here something I read a while back went I was going to give it up Check it out
What’s your story?
Yes, I am talking about that story. You know the story you tell
yourself to rationalize why it’s OK to not live life the way
that God or whoever you worship meant you to live.
Do you have kids or at least know a kid? Then you know exactly
how those stories go: “Hey mom or dad I just can’t get a B in
science, i’m no good at it”
When kids tell these stories they have a huge advantage over you
and I because kids have someone to answer to. Kids have someone
someone to be accountable to. Someone who can see through their
B.S and set them on the right track.
When kids tell these completely untrue stories we see right
through them and straighten them out. We remind them of how
great they are, and how much potential they have.
Stop for a minute on your way back home today and picture
yourself as a child, heading home from school with a bad report
card. Except your going home to the BIG Dog Parent (God). What
would you tell him about why it is your living a sub par life?
What lines would you feed him about how things have been unfair
for you?
What do you think he would say back to you?
Would he say “Oh Ken, your right you don’t really need to live
up to your potential?”
Or would he it be more like “Uhhhhh, whats going on Ken, you
know that this isn’t your practice life, the world doesn’t
care what excuses you have. In fact starting right now if you
show up at home with that defeatist attitude, your going to the
naughty step”
Just something to think about….
Thanks EJ!
I appreciate your comments. And the quote, possibly from Kenny Rushing?
Anyway, I’m not pursuing real estate investing any longer and I believe this is the wise thing to do.
Currently, I am whole-heartedly pursuing another stream of income outlined in the Kiyosaki books – network (or relationship) marketing.
I’ve done this before and I do believe that it is another way of creating supplemental income.
I do not feel that I have completely written off real estate investing its just not in my line of sight as of right now.
We all make decisions in our lives and each one has is rewards or consequences. I’m just making efforts to follow my Leader, Jesus!
Ok, and thanks for being concerned its very nice to hear.
I live in Ohio btw! So, we do have plenty of REI gruops, but I chose not to join any.
Like I said, we live with our choices and sadly some die by those choices.
I’ve decided to pursue my dream of financial freedom through a different road.
